The Mental Health (MH) Consultant will provide a supportive function to the Healthy Families America home visiting programs relative to parental and infant mental health through staff development and training, coaching, consultation, and best practice initiatives. This position provides mental health consultation to staff, families, or other professionals to determine where recommended services should be sought.
-Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counseling required or currently participating in a master's degree program (social work, psychology or counseling) with the expectation to graduate within 12 months of hire
-Knowledge and experience working with pregnant women, infants, and small children.
-Knowledge and experience working with adults living with Mental Health challenges.
-Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
-Ability to work and establish rapport with a variety of audiences including participants, internal staff.
-Familiarity with community resources.
-Ability to work independently.
-Excellent communication and coaching skills to interact effectively with families, employees, managers and administrative staff.
-Good organizational skills, and computer skills.
-Interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective consultation to leadership and direct service staff.
-Ability to develop and implement quality initiatives and programming.
-Prior experience in public speaking, and group facilitation.
This is a full time, benefits eligible position. This position will be house in Merrill, Antigo or Rhinelander and will serve clients and support staff in all three locations.
