Conducts adoptive family home studies for children in foster care needing adoptive placement through state contracted program. Conducts adoptive home studies for families searching for an adoptive placement as well as foster parents wishing to convert a child's current placement in their home from foster to adoptive. Provides case management services such as preparing the child and family for adoption. Prepares necessary paperwork including adoption assistance and court documents.
Master's Degree in Social Work or related field preferred, OR a bachelor's degree in Social Work with two years post degree experience.
Social Work certification preferred. Eligibility for Social Work certification required, and certification must be achieved within 90 days of hire.
Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, personal auto liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier.
Must use personal vehicle to transport children, complete in-house car seat transporter training within one month of hire and re-train biannually thereafter to maintain.
Previous child welfare experience required, adoption experience preferred.
WiSACWIS experience preferred.
Experience working with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds strongly preferred.
Travel to designated counties for home visits and court appearances.
This Madison based position involves travel in 13 counties across Southern Wisconsin as well as the need for flexible daytime/early evening hours.
